Prithvi Datalogger & Prithvi IoT Solutions
Effective Date: August 10, 2026
Data Safety Commitment: Prithvi Datalogger is designed to safely record, monitor, and sync IoT sensor telemetry. We do not sell your personal data or device location to third parties or advertising networks.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Prithvi IoT Solutions ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Prithvi Datalogger mobile application, IoT hardware loggers, web platform, and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on your interaction with the Prithvi Datalogger application, we may process the following types of information:

A. IoT Telemetry & Sensor Data

Environmental telemetry captured by your paired Prithvi hardware loggers, including temperature, humidity, pressure, battery status, alarm states, device serial numbers, and timestamped log records.

B. Account & Authentication Data

User credentials such as name, business email address, phone number (for SMS alerts), and organization profile used for account access and alert dispatching.

C. Technical & Diagnostic Logs

App version, mobile operating system details, network IP address, Wi-Fi status, and MQTT connection logs to ensure seamless telemetry synchronization and troubleshooting.

3. Device Permissions & Usage

To connect with hardware data loggers and function properly, the app requests specific device permissions:

Permission Purpose & Data Usage
Location / BLE Required by Android OS strictly for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and local Wi-Fi discovery to pair with nearby Prithvi IoT Data Loggers. Your actual GPS location is never tracked, stored, or shared.
Bluetooth Used to establish direct wireless communication with data loggers to configure parameters and download stored offline logs.
Local Storage Allows saving sensor data logs locally on your mobile device when offline and generating downloadable PDF/CSV audit reports.
Notifications Sends real-time push alerts whenever environmental metrics exceed configured safety thresholds (e.g., temperature breach).

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To display, analyze, and generate compliance reports for your Prithvi logger devices.
  • To transmit real-time alerts via push notifications, email, or SMS when thresholds are crossed.
  • To maintain seamless telemetry synchronization between offline hardware loggers and the cloud dashboard.
  • To diagnose technical bugs, optimize application performance, and provide technical support.

5. Data Security & Storage

We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical security measures—including TLS/HTTPS encryption for data in transit and secure database storage—to protect your sensor data and account details from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal or sensor telemetry data to third parties. Data is shared only under the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: Cloud infrastructure, email/SMS gateway providers acting strictly under our privacy and confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or legal process to protect safety or property rights.

7. User Rights & Data Retention

You retain full control over your data. You may request access to, export of, or permanent deletion of your account and stored telemetry logs at any time by contacting our support team.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for or targeted at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. The latest version will always be accessible at this URL with an updated effective date.
